With PeopleSoft Fluid user interface, tracking expenses, running reports, and submitting approvals can be done via mobile.
PeopleSoft Fluid is making substantial improvements to the accessibility and ease of the PeopleSoft application. We’ve constructed a list of the top 5 reasons users are loving PeopleSoft Fluid UI.
1. Improved User Experience
PeopleSoft Fluid UI is favorable across all user types. The simple and intuitive UI design benefits everyone from casual self-service users to high-level executives. More than ever, we’re seeing an influx in the blend of personal and work-life integration. With this trend, people have come to expect mobile, efficient, and personalization capabilities. PeopleSoft Fluid is providing its users with tools for accurate, on-the-go decision making, all from the click of your smart device.
The innovation of Fluid transforms the user experience for:
- Application Navigation
- Employee/ Manager Self Service
- Tiles
- Home Pages & Dashboards
- Remote Accessibility
- Fluid Approvals
- Pivot Grids

2. Mobile Flexibility
The usage of mobile and smart devices are at an all-time high. Employees are relying heavily on their mobile devices, especially during work hours. According to a recent study, over 80% of individuals own a smart device and 70% keep it within reach while at work. Mobile usage has surpassed the traditional desktop mode for internet preference, and the expectation is for those numbers to continuously increase.
As the saying goes, “If you can’t beat them, join them”. PeopleSoft Fluid caters to operating on mobile and smart devices. Using the rendering technologies of HTML5 and CCS3, the ERP system automatically adjusts its screen layout for desktop, cellular, and tablet devices. In addition, the Fluid UI transitions between portrait and landscape mode.
3. Simple Navigation
Fluid navigation is achieved through Homepages and Tiles. PeopleSoft Fluid supports multiple Homepages, catering to various titles, roles, or job functions. A default Homepage will appear after login, with additional custom Homepages accessible using the drop-down feature. Each Homepage is complete with Tiles, which serve as the navigation pathway. Fluid Tiles are comparable to a Pagelet within the Classic Application.
The Classic navigation displays a breadcrumb menu, or collective sequences taken to get to a page. While many grew accustomed to its quick navigation capabilities, PeopleSoft Fluid foregoes the use of breadcrumbs. Instead, Fluid shifts the primary method of navigation to be from HomePages and Tiles. Fluid UI also uses the NavBar, consisting of Recent Places, User Favorites, and the Navigator. The user can choose to pin additional custom pages to their bar for additional quick access.
4. Personalization
PeopleSoft Fluid provides the user with personalization features to promote efficiency. Users can create new Homepages, with the ability to add, remove, or rearrange Tiles. Additionally, customizations can be done for the NavBar by adding or arranging Tiles. Users can even favorite components to add under My Favorites within the NavBar.
Guidelines note the first three Tiles on the NavBar should reflect Recent Places, My Favorites, and Navigator. Also, no more than 5 Tiles should be placed in the NavBar. NavBar tiles will trigger the transfer to a component or the opening of second-level content.

5. Faster Approvals and Decisions
Users of PeopleSoft Fluid note a significant increase in timely approvals and overall decision-making. With the help of mobile approvals, executives can quickly make decisions on the go. Notifications indicate if a pending action is awaiting completion, such as approvals. Managers can then access reports and filter data to complete tasks all via mobile.
Fluid Tiles can be set to display dynamic information. With the help of pivot grids, a summary of data is presented in the form of charts or graphs. The information serves as a trigger to drill deeper into the aggregated data and/or complete related transactions based on the data analysis.
