Extended Support Through 2033
You’ve likely heard the news of Oracle extending support for PeopleSoft through 2033. It’s an exciting announcement that reassures Oracle’s commitment to PeopleSoft.
The extension of a rolling 10 years of support comes with another decade of updates, innovations, and of course, Premium Support for the application. (Lifetime Support Policy).
So, what can users expect from 2022 innovations and staying current with PeopleSoft?
Since 2013, product developments have moved to follow a Continuous Innovation Model. This allows customers running PeopleSoft version 9.2 to receive continuous updates to the existing release, as opposed to an entire application upgrade.
The “updates over upgrades” model will continue this year, and the chances of a 9.3 version in the 2022 PeopleSoft Roadmap are fairly unlikely.
Continuous Innovation provides many advantages. The most apparent is avoiding the disruptions that come with major upgrades, but licensees also gain flexibility over implementations, updates are cumulative, and it even includes Premium Support. However, capitalizing on these benefits requires one important part – the enterprise must be running PeopleSoft 9.2.

Staying current with PeopleSoft in 2022 keeps your investment protected. Several new and innovative developments for the upcoming year are anticipated, with some already making their release. The PeopleSoft Roadmap for 2022 includes enhancements for PeopleTools, Cloud Manager, HCM, FSCM, and Campus Solutions.
Robust solutions that are cost-effective and easy to use are on the top of PeopleSoft customers’ minds. Let’s take a look at what’s in store:
Oracle revealed plans to release PeopleTools 8.60 in 2022. The features are expected to be on display at BLUEPRINT 4D this June. The conference is resuming with live, in-person events in Las Vegas, NV, but attendees may also participate virtually
Based on prior roadmaps and PeopleTools releases, we’re expecting more improvements to the PeopleSoft user interface, application operations, and lifecycle management. We’re also anticipating initiatives that further support PeopleSoft applications on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Cloud Manager 13
One thing is for certain in the 2022 PeopleSoft Roadmap, the incentives for deploying applications on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure are strong.
The push for agile deployments to OCI is shown in the latest Cloud Manager 13. The release includes cost-saving features like Policy Manager, which lets customers set automated policies to control what happens with their PeopleSoft environments in OCI.
Using Cloud Manager and Policy Manager, clients can save money with automated shut-down schedules when instances are not in use. i.e. After hours, weekends, etc. The features also introduce Machine Learning capabilities for auto-scaling.
Customers must deploy PeopleSoft applications on OCI to take advantage of the cost-saving benefits of Cloud Manager.
Application Updates & Releases
Implementing application updates is crucial for staying current with PeopleSoft in 2022. We can anticipate new features and enhancements across the entire enterprise software, including releases for HCM (CRM and ELM), FSCM, and Campus Solutions.
